Mysterious, mystical - When this tune came through me, in the dark of the night, it totally enchanted me. I couldn’t resist playing it over and over and over. Still can't. Lovely, magical, maybe even a wee bit macabre, this tune continues to weave it’s spell...

Go for a walk in the woods at twilight. You can’t quite tell when twilight actually begins and when it ends, but you can feel a difference in everything around you. There are monay beliefs that twilight is the time when spirits can pass between worlds; it is a time when faeries begin their revelries; at time your grandmother might have warned you not to stray off the road, as you might become a victim of enchantment.
While visiting Ireland a number of years ago now with my daughter, we stayed at the lovely castle/home of Tim and Sylvia O’Brien - Kilbrittain Castle, Co. Cork. During one of our delightful talks with our hosts, Tim bemoaned the thought that the true faerylore of Ireland was being lost; replaced by sugar-coated cartoon fairies. Faeries, he said, were creatures with their own agendas, some of which included leading unsuspecting humans astray. They were fascinating, magical and definitely beings to be wary of!
* This music came about long before the popularity of Stephenie Meyer’s “Twilight” book or the ensuing movies. (I think it would have made great music in the movie sagas!)
