I found many stones from the late 19th and early 20th century marking the resting place of teenagers and young adults. The names, ages and some of the details of their stories came directly from their stones. The rest is my own version of historical fiction. I chose to focus on the resilient, optimistic, completely invincible characteristics of this age group, not on the fact that they died young.
