When this tune came through me, in the dark of the night, it totally enchanted me. I couldn’t resist playing it over and over and over. Still can't. Lovely, magical, maybe even a wee bit macabre, this tune continues to weave it’s spell...

While visiting Ireland a number of years ago now with my daughter, we stayed at the lovely castle/home of Tim and Sylvia O’Brien - Kilbrittain Castle, Co. Cork. During one of our delightful talks with our hosts, Tim bemoaned the thought that the true faerylore of Ireland was being lost; replaced by sugar-coated cartoon fairies. Faeries, he said, were creatures with their own agendas, some of which included leading unsuspecting humans astray. They were fascinating, magical and definitely beings to be wary of!
